Outfit Post / / Fall Colors

Hey y'all!  Fall is without a doubt my favorite season ever!  With this season comes some of my favorite things like apple cider, hayrides, pumpkins (especially pumpkin pie!), Thanksgiving, cozy campfires, warm jackets, flannel shirts, comfy blankets, boots, bluegrass and old-fashioned craft festivals, caramel apples, cinnamon spice candles, rustic fall decorating, crisp and chilly autumn air, and best of all is the beautiful colors of the leaves (and of course raking 'em up and playing in 'em) everywhere you look!  They are sooooooo pretty with all the brilliant colors.  This outfit just came together so fast and easy and used the inspiration of the gorgeous fall colors.

Matching colors is very important, but this one basically just
follows a common color mainly being brown (with the boots and skirt),
than adding the neutral white with the popping, bright
orange, coming from underneath, gives it an over all matching look.

Our family plays as a bluegrass gospel band and this is what I wore to play a gig the other night. The evening ended up being chilly, so the long sleeves were helpful.  Also, I always wear leggings under my skirts in the colder weather for warmth and shorts in the warmer months for modesty.  It was a very comfortable all day outfit and, though the pictures don't show it well, the white shirt has a nice decorative, pretty, ruffly, slightly gathered, neckline with a few small buttons down the front.

Sock Bun (no heat) Curls // Hair Tutorial

Here is an AWESOME way to get gorgeous curls without damaging your hair with heat!

This is a very easy, cheap, and effective way to get these beautiful curls!

First just cut the toe out of a sock

and roll it up.

While hair is still damp, put it up into a high ponytail.
Then send all hair through the suck bun and roll it all down onto
your head evenly.

Sleep in it overnight (it is surprisingly comfortable).

You can even wear it just like that in a bun too. :)

Take it down in the morning and that's it!

Beautiful curls!!!

(tip: if your hair is super thick and doesn't really
hold a curl, you can half your hair and put it up in two sock buns!)

Outfit Post / / Nursing Friendly Maxi Dress

Hey y'all!  Finding dresses that are nursing friendly (and in my budget) has proven to be very difficult.  So, here is an idea that I came up with that worked great!  The colors and pattern are a little wilder than I would normally chose, but I decided to try it out anyway, Jesse approved (getting your husband's opinion (if married) is very important), and I surprisingly really liked it.
It can be dressed up or down quite easily by changing jewelry (I used another necklace from a returns' pallet for our online business Wright Resale), hairstyles, and shoes.

This is a two piece outfit (which is how it works for nursing).  I found this top and a thrift store years ago and just decided to keep it around, but never had a way to wear it until I had the idea to pair it with my new maxi dress.

How have y'all made dresses nursing friendly or do any of you know where to find them at good prices?  I'd love to hear from y'all!  I hope this post was helpful for any of you nursing mothers that need ideas on full length dresses.

Simple French Braid / / Hair Tutorial

Hey ya'll!  I have had many people for years ask me how I do a french braid on myself, so I made this quick youtube video on how I do it.  I hope it is helpful and informative.  Are there any other hairstyles that ya'll would like to know how to do?  Please comment; I'd love to hear from you!
Thanks so much for stopping by and watching it! :)

Beauty Tip // DIY Honey Hair Moisturizer also a Natural Hair Lightener

I had known about this forever, but just finally got around to doing it and am very glad I tried it (the before picture was taken right after taking my hair out of a braid; that's why its not as straight).  I was so amazed as to how healthy it made my hair feel!
All you do is combine equal amounts of honey (I used the honey
from our beehives) and your favorite conditioner

 and mix together thoroughly.

While your hair is damp, completely run the mixture all through it.  You can leave it in, cover your hair with a plastic bag, and sleep in it over night (supposedly it is more effective that way), but I just did it in the shower and then shampooed and conditioned hair as usual.  The is a very healthy way to strengthen and moisturize your hair and also will bring the life back into your hair.  It may also subtly lighten your hair as well, as it did mine, making the natural blonde highlights more obvious.

Outfit Post / / Black/White Fancy Casual (Nursing Friendly)

Hey Ya'll!  Since I'm nursing my little one, I'm always on the lookout for nursing friendly clothes that are also modest and am always trying to create styles that work for nursing.  I found this black nursing top at a local thrift store.   It is hard to find nursing or maternity shirts that have a high enough neckline and this one does, but it is sleeveless, and personally I prefer not to wear them without something over the shoulders, so I added this pretty sweater.  This outfit is very versatile since the white, elegant sweater gives it a fancy aspect paired with the black shirt, yet the blue jeans keeps it casual.
The fancy necklace came out of a pallet of returns (one of the pro's to my husband and I running our online returns' business, Wright Resale) and matched just right.
This style nursing shirt works nicely and it is actually a maternity shirt as well which makes it an even more useful addition to any modest young mother's wardrobe.

Half-up Half-down Twisted Fishtail Braid // Hair Tutorial

This is a very simple, yet intricate looking
hairstyle that is beautiful and elegant, but also
has a relaxed feel to it.

Start by taking a piece of hair from
behind your ear and twist it.

Do the same on the other side
and hold them together.

Next start you fishtail braid by
taking  small piece from the left side
twist and adding it to the right twist.
Then take a small piece from the right
and add it to the left.  Continue this
all the way down
and fasten of with an elastic band.
That's it!
Beautiful! :-)
