21st Birthday Outfit Post // Peach & Lace

Hey y'all!  First off  I want to say thank you so much to everyone for
all your prayers and kind words as we went through a miscarriage.  The Lord has
been so good to us and has definitely given us the comfort and peace that only He can.

I know this is a late post, because my 21st birthday was back in July, but
I thought maybe that this outfit that I wore could possibly give y'all some
inspirational ideas for your own wardrobes.

My husband took Gavin and I to the beach for my birthday!!!
I'll be posting about our vacation really soon on our farm blog.

We also got to go to Stone Mt. Georgia, see some old
southern plantations houses, and visit an old fort as well!
Tons and tons of pictures about that to come on our farm blog.

This was such a pleasantly comfortable outfit to wear on the
breezy coast!  I found the shirt on clearance, while at
the beach, for only $4.00.   I absolutely LOVE the color and
elegant feel that the shirt has.

My mother-in-law gave me this gorgeous, white lace, maxi skirt
as a birthday present.  It's one of those instant favorites that
I know I'll be wearing for years to come.

A Prayer Request

We would like to ask everyone for your prayers for physical and emotional healing. We have had a miscarriage and faithfully look to the Lord to give us comfort and use our family to His glory as we praise Him in this time of trouble.

"Fourth Of July" Outfit Post // Red, White, and Blue

Hey y'all!  I apologize for it having been a while since I posted here.  We've been going through a lot lately, I'll post more about that real soon.  Anyway, did y'all have a good weekend?  I know we had a wonderful time.  Here are some pictures of what I wore on the 4th of July.  Sorry, for the pictures being so dark, but we took them on the porch since it was raining.

I tried to wear something red, white, and blue, but couldn't find anything red in my closet at all.  So I just cut this little strip of red, gingham fabric and tied it in my hair.

Five 5 Minute Hairstyles

Hey y'all!  We've been so busy around here lately that I haven't put my hair up very fancily the past few days.  Here are some of my favorite "go-to" styles that I do all the time which take less than 5 minutes, and are awesome when you're in a rush to get ready, or for busy moms like me. :-)

#1 (is the one pictured a above)
Half up - Half Down Braid

#2 Headband with a Side Braid
I really like this style because it is an easy
way to decorate a normal everyday braid.

#3 Topknot
This is a really simple updo that is very quick to throw
together when your in a hurry, or for chores around
the house to keep the hair off of your neck.

#4 Half up - Half Down
This without a doubt is my main
"go-to" style for many days of the week.

#5 Flip-Through Ponytail
And lastly, a fast and simple way to dress up a ponytail!
The other styles are pretty self explanatory, but I'm
going to go ahead and include some "how-to"
pictures for this one.

 Staring with a high ponytail,
split the hair above the elastic band,
 flip you hair up,
and pull it back through the gap that you made.

I hope that some of these ideas are helpful
for when you need to style your hair in rush.

What are some of y'all's favorite 5 minute or less hairstyles?

Outfit Post // Peach + Denim - Nursing Friendly Spring Maxi Dress

Hey y'all!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  Here is what I wore last Sunday for Easter and it's just one of those outfits that are new, but quickly become a favorite that will definitely be around a long time as a regular "go-to" style.

I found both the dress and the jacket at an unclaimed baggage store, while we were out on our 2nd wedding anniversary, and both were great deals.  The dress was brand new and still had the original price tag on it that said $98.99, but we got it for $13.85! Yay! And the jacket was only $5.99 so I was very excited about these finds.

I am still nursing my little boy and have a difficult time finding dresses that are also nursing friendly (click here to see an older post about another nursing friendly dress).  This one is actually strapless, but you can't tell it and that makes it perfect for nursing.
I'm rather tall (5' 11"), so whenever I find a dress that is long, I always get super happy about it! :-)

Dresses like this are so multipurpose, since you can dress them up for special occasions or give them a rustic, country feel (my favorite style) by adding denim, like I did here.  Also, I love peach colors mixed with navy blue, especially a dark denim; it just makes the colors pop.

Do y'all have any favorite Spring dresses?
What did you wear last Sunday?

If any of you nursing moms have suggestions on making dresses nursing friendly I would definitely love to hear them!

March Photo Challenge // My Pictures

Hey y'all! Remember that "March Photo Challenge"?  Well, here are my pictures from throughout the month.  I had planned to post them at the end of every week, but so much has happened and we've been overly busy all month long.

I know I had fun doing this and I hope y'all will enjoy seeing the photos.
So, here they are finally! :-)

#1 Your View
We still had snow at the beginning of the
month and this is our view as you're leaving our
farm out the back way.  It looked so pretty
covered in a blanket of snow.

#2 A Corner
This is a corner in downtown Ashville, AL
on the square.  You can see the old rock store and the "Upping Block".
Click here to see a post on our farm blog that I did about the "Upping Block".

#3 In Your Hands
A hot cup of coffee on an early cold morning.

#4 A Clock

#5 Happiness
Yep, true happiness!!! :-)
A picture that has now become one of my very favorites.

#6 Luck or rather "Blessed"
Instead of doing "luck", I decided to take a picture
of how blessed I am.  Family is such
a special thing that we should always be thankful for
and never take for granted.
We are very blessed!

#8 The Sky
A lovely sunrise on a beautiful,
crisp, early, spring morning as the mist
filled our little valley.

#9 Two Things
Pen and paper; two things that I really love!

#10 The Ground
The ground covered in pretty violets.
These edible little wildflowers are some of my favorites.
some fun ways of using violets this spring!

#11 Contentment
The face of my sleeping baby boy.

#12 Your Name
This Bible was given to us on our wedding day by my family.

#13 Prized Possession
My fiddle and mandolin are definitely
two of my most prized possessions.

#14 Breakfast
Cinnamon Raisin Bagel with
Cream Cheese, 2 Boiled Eggs,
Strawberries, Grapes, and a glass of Milk
to drink. Yummy!!

#15 Someone You Love
Two "Someone's" that I love very, very much!

#16 Your Street

#17 Green
A refreshingly, tasty watermelon.

#18 Something Old
Janney Furnace.  A local historic site that we actually
went to at the end of the month for Jesse's birthday.
and the civil war reenactment that they were hosting there.

#19 A Pair

#20 Something New
A new book that we just got and are very excited about!  We've been going through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University (FPU) and highly recommend it for everyone no matter what stage you're at in life or with your money.  Y'all should go definitely check out their website www.daveramsey.com.

#21 Black and White
One of our favorite hymns that was actually sung at our wedding.
"God Holds The Future In His Hands"

#22 Stripes
Gavin's shirt.

#23 Rings
Our wedding rings and my engagement ring.

#24 Water
Our pond.

#25 Telephone

#26 Floral

#27 Mail
If you look close, you can barely see our
honeybee hives in the top left corner of the picture.

#28 Circle
Small cedar disks that we have been selling in our Etsy shop.

#29 Tiny

#30 Cold
We had an impressive hail storm that day.
There were some much, much bigger ones than these.

#31 Green
And last, but not least, a little green
leaf growing between some rocks.

What an interesting month this has been!  From snow at the
beginning to now working in the garden and enjoying all
of the pretty wildflowers.

This was such a fun challenge
and I had lots of fun doing it.

Have y'all taken any interesting photos this Spring?
